This yarn is blend of medium wool breeds from small flocks and farms across Maine and Canada. It is minimally processed and so will come with a lovely lanolin feel, a whiff of sheep smell, and occasionally the easily-removed bit of hay or grass. This is not superwash merino, but rather strong wool in its purest form!
A tale of three whites: The three types of whites are visibly similar, but have slight differences in behavior and hand. Natural White is the closest to raw wool, it does not undergo the final washing and therefore contains more lanolin and spinning oil. Washed White undergoes the final washing and contains less of the spinning oils. Bleached White is not actually bleached, but lightened with peroxide.
